Gooding & Company Achieves Over £5 Million in Sales at its Second Geared Online Auction with Viewing in the UK

The auction house presented fourteen European and American classics, including the top sale, a 1969 Ford GT40 that sold for £2,508,000.

Santa Monica, Calif. (18 June 2021) —Gooding & Company, the international auction house revered for selling the world’s most prized collector automobiles, concluded another installment of its successful Geared Online Auction series by realizing £5,259,650 at its June UK sale. The company achieved an 86% sell-through rate, yielding an overall average price per car of £438,304. 

The collection, consisting of fourteen classics, included a range of European competition and touring cars, as well as the top sale of the auction, which was an iconic 1969 Ford GT40 that sold for £2,508,000 –– the last one ever produced by the legendary American marque. The second-highest selling car was a 1990 Porsche 962C with a documented provenance in the competition world, raking in a figure of £759,000. This was closely followed by a sleek 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 S featuring coachwork by Bertone, which sold for £737,000. The eight-day sale also featured a 1968 Ferrari Dino 206 GT, which sold for £456,500, as well as a 1955 Bentley S1 Drophead Coupe. The latter, showcasing the best of British and Swiss automotive excellence, pulled in a final selling price of £280,500. Additional highlights included a historic 1928 Lancia Lambda that sold for £137,500 and a 1957 Lotus Eleven that sold for £102,300.
