Gooding & Company Proudly Presents Geared Online | Scottsdale Edition for January 2021

Santa Monica, Calif. (November 23, 2020) – Gooding & Company, the auction house revered for selling the world’s most desirable and prized collector cars, is thrilled to announce that its annual Scottsdale Auctions will be held exclusively on its Geared Online platform. From Monday, January 18 to Friday, January 22, 2021, the auction will continue the company’s online-only Geared Online series with a special sale during the Scottsdale automotive week. Keeping with the auction house’s world-renowned reputation of delivering the highest quality vehicles, Geared Online Scottsdale Edition will offer a selection of reserve and no reserve lots, providing a magnificent array of automotive history for every level of collector. An early highlight included in the online Scottsdale sale is a fresh-to-market 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose.

“We are very excited to showcase such an incredible Ferrari at our online Scottsdale sale,” states Gooding & Company President and Founder, David Gooding. “Our January event has always attracted a wide-reaching number of enthusiasts across the globe. Introducing our Scottsdale auctions onto our Geared Online platform will give collectors the same opportunity to take home incredible pieces of automotive fervor while remaining safe and in the comfort of their homes during this ongoing pandemic.”

1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose (Estimate: $2,000,000 – $2,400,000) Introduced at the 1965 Paris Salon, the 275 GTB continued Ferrari’s tradition of offering a thoroughbred dual-purpose sports car to its most demanding customers. Performance was electrifying, thanks to a new 3.3-liter V-12, five-speed transaxle, fully independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. The car’s sleek and seductive coachwork, designed by Pininfarina and crafted by Scaglietti, recalled earlier berlinettas such as the 250 Tour de France and GTO.

Numbered 08863, this late-production example features the desirable long nose bodywork and torque-tube driveshaft. This 275 GTB was delivered new through Western US distributor Modern Classic Motors to a Ferrari enthusiast based in Portland, Oregon. It remained in his family’s ownership for over five decades. Never before restored, displayed, or offered for public sale and showing just over 40,000 original miles, this 275 GTB remains in well-preserved condition.

Considered one of the most iconic and collectible sports cars of all time, the 275 GTB combines the very best Ferrari attributes in one beautiful, well-rounded package. This particular car embodies a refined, late-production example, with the improved long-nose bodywork and torque-tube driveshaft. In addition to its unusual color scheme of Rosso Chiaro with Red leather upholstery and cloth inserts, the car is one of the most unique and distinctive 275 GTBs in existence. Fresh to the market, eligible for countless events, and in superb unrestored condition, 08863 presents a truly rare opportunity to acquire a Ferrari that has had just one private owner from new.

Gooding & Company will house all vehicles offered in the online auction at the company’s Southern California facility, providing the unique ability to offer on-site inspections for interested bidders and for specialists to engage with the available lots on behalf of buyers and sellers. The auction house invites you to speak with a Gooding & Company staff member for more information on how to consign for upcoming sales.
