Santa Monica, Calif. (June 24, 2025) — Gooding Christie’s, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance® for the 21st year, today announced a lineup of exceptional racing cars for its upcoming sale this August, led by the Le Mans veteran 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione Series III campaigned in period under the legendary N.A.R.T. banner. This Daytona Competizione is joined by additional modern and vintage racing marvels from Bugatti, BMW, Porsche, and Ferrari. All of these cars are slated to cross the auction block at the Gooding Christie’s Pebble Beach marquee on Friday, August 15 and Saturday, August 16.

“The Pebble Beach Auctions have always been a platform for showcasing motorsport’s finest achievements, and this year’s roster is no exception. From vintage Le Mans veterans to cutting-edge modern hypercars, our collection embodies the rich heritage and innovation that define competitive racing," said David Brynan, Gooding Christie’s Senior Specialist. “We’re thrilled to offer collectors the opportunity to own truly historic competition cars, such as the N.A.R.T. Ferrari Daytona and BMW’s class-winning M8 GTE, alongside groundbreaking vehicles like the Bugatti Bolide and Porsche 911 RSR-17.”

Joining the headliners of the Pebble Beach Auctions is the formidable 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione Series III (Estimate: $8,000,000 – $10,000,000), chassis 16407. One of 15 official competition Daytonas in total, and one of just five Series III examples built for the 1973 season, 16407 is among the ultimate Series III cars, equipped with the “motore speciale.” Delivered new to Luigi Chinetti’s North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.) for immediate use at the 1973 24 Hours of Le Mans, it made its debut at the world-famous race with Milt Minter and Sam Posey at the wheel. This exceptional competition Daytona has robust period race history, including additional outings at Le Mans, Sebring, Watkins Glen, and Daytona, where in 1979 it took home 2nd Overall and 1st in Class driven by Tony Adamowicz and John Morton. A true piece of Ferrari motorsport history, 16407 boasts well-documented provenance, with just two private owners since 1983. In recent years, this Daytona underwent a no-expense-spared restoration by renowned marque specialist Motion Products, Inc. which returned the car to its original 1973 Le Mans configuration. In 2024, 16407 was awarded the Enzo Ferrari Trophy at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®, as well as a Platinum Award at the Ferrari Club of America National Meet in Elkhart Lake.

The first of its kind to come to public auction is a one-owner 2024 Bugatti Bolide (Estimate: $4,500,000 – $6,000,000) finished in French Racing Blue with Nocturne Black Carbon accents. This exclusive track-only W-16-powered hypercar was designed by Bugatti with speed, aerodynamics, and weight reduction at top of mind, making it one of the most radical vehicles ever conceived by the legendary automaker. This example, chassis 001, is one of only 40 units built by hand in Molsheim for Bugatti’s most exclusive clientele, and the first Bolide to be delivered worldwide. With just 626 km (389 miles) from delivery, this Bolide presents an especially rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive track-focused hypercars of the modern era.

Gooding Christie’s also presents an extraordinary 2019 BMW M8 GTE (Estimate: $1,750,000 – $3,000,000) with top-level results and enduring significance in BMW’s North American motorsport history. This M8 GTE, chassis 1809, is the most accomplished example from BMW’s Works M8 GTE program: it made its historic debut at the 2020 Rolex 24 at Daytona, where it won the GTLM Class, a landmark victory for BMW. It also captured significant podium finishes at Sebring in 2020 and Daytona in 2021. Presented in distinctive factory livery created by Walter Maurer, the German artist associated with the original BMW Art Cars, and accompanied by its Daytona trophy, this M8 GTE offers a singular opportunity to acquire one of BMW’s most important works GT cars.

Capturing over 40 years of racing excellence from Porsche’s legendary RSR program are two important examples from the German marque: a 2017 Porsche 911 RSR-17 (Estimate: $3,000,000 – $5,000,000) and a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR (Estimate: $1,500,000 – $2,000,000). Tracing its roots back to the legendary Carrera RSR of the 1970s, the 911 RSR-17 is a revolutionary Porsche racing car which introduced, for the first time in the RSR’s history, a mid-engine configuration. Developed to compete in the LM GTE categories of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the European Le Mans Series, and IMSA’s GTLM class in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, this RSR-17 was retained by Porsche Motorsport as a spare team car from 2017-2019. Across its impressive career, the RSR-17 amassed 13 victories, 34 podium finishes, and multiple championship titles, from Daytona to Sebring and Le Mans. In 2019, it raced for the final time at Petit Le Mans wearing heritage “Coca-Cola” livery, evoking memories of Bob Akin’s partnership with the soft-drink brand during IMSA’s thrilling 935-962 era. This example, chassis 905, was used in the production of a promotional film starring Porsche factory driver Patrick Long. For the collector who prefers vintage racing Porsches, the accomplished 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR on offer is the 7th of 37 examples built for the 1974 year. Believed to be one of the most successful RSR 3.0s ever raced, this example totaled 17 podium finishes, seven 1st in Class finishes, and nine 1st place finishes for the 1977 season alone. This two-time Swiss National Championship winner was campaigned extensively by its first owner, Harry Blumer, as well as drivers Edwin Kofel and Edy Brandenberger. During the ownership of its recent caretaker, this 3.0 RSR was a participant in Rennsport IV, V, and VI, and the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca. It has also received major and comprehensive mechanical servicing by marque expert Bruce Canepa, including a complete engine rebuild in 2025.

Also offered is a time-capsule 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Leichtbau (Estimate: $750,000 – $1,000,000) with only 500 km at the time of cataloguing – one of the most original and best preserved examples of the 22 such cars made in a limited run. Gooding Christie’s will also present a limited-production, track-only 2022 Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport 25 “Manthey Racing” (Estimate: $650,000 – $850,000), the first of 30 GT2 RS Clubsport examples developed to commemorate Manthey Racing’s 25th anniversary. Presented in nearly as-delivered condition with less than 700 miles from new, this GT2 RS Clubsport 25 “Manthey Racing” is one of only six examples originally allocated for the US. Additionally, a desirable 2008 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR (Estimate: $350,000 – $500,000) with extensive European GT racing history will join the sale.

The Pebble Beach Auctions will also feature a 1963 Jaguar E-Type Lightweight Continuation (Estimate: $900,000 – $1,400,000). One of just six examples built by Jaguar to 1963 specification using original-series chassis numbers, this E-Type Lightweight Continuation was used as a factory press and promotional vehicle for Jaguar’s Continuation program upon completion. It is being offered from original ownership, acquired from Jaguar Classic Works in 2014. Also on offer is a 2010 Ferrari F430 GTC (Estimate: $475,000 – $575,000), one of only 11 GTV Evo “Wide Body” models built between 2010-2011. This F430 GTC was campaigned by Extreme Speed Motorsports in distinctive PATRÓN black and green livery, and in recent years, was cosmetically restored in a traditional Rossa Corsa finish.
