1997 Porsche 993 Carrera

Introduced at the 1993 Frankfurt Motor Show exactly 30 years after the debut of the original 911, Porsche’s Type 993 represented the final evolution of the air-cooled era. Delivered new to Austria, this 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera is finished in Ocean Blue Metallic over full black leather interior. Equipped with Porsche’s optional Tiptronic transmission, it offered an appealing blend of performance and usability. A remarkable list of factory options included 17” Cup alloy wheels, automatic brake differential, cruise control, heated seats, airconditioning, Litronic xenon headlights, a rearwindow wiper, and Porsche CR-21 cassette radio. The car was further enhanced through Porsche Exclusive with dark burl-wood trim for the instrument panel, shift knob, and hand-brake lever.

Austrian registration records show the Carrera was first registered to Porsche Holding GmbH in Salzburg in November 1997. Accompanying correspondence from noted Porsche authority and former owner Dr. Georg Konradsheim further relates that, upon acquiring the car in 2008, he was informed that it had originally been driven by Brigitte Porsche, wife of Ferdinand Alexander “Butzi” Porsche, the designer of the original 911. More recently exported to the US, the Carrera has been carefully maintained within a significant private collection. With documented Austrian provenance and a fascinating connection to the Porsche family, this well-equipped 993 Carrera represents a distinctive example of the final air-cooled 911 generation.
